Porto Colom
Porto Colom's main feature is the large natural harbour which the town surrounds. Originally a fishing village the town has kept it’s identity making it popular with Mallorcian visitors as well as English and German tourists. The large enclosed bay is home to a number of small fishing boats and leisure craft. Along the harbour front there is a reasonable selection of shops for the everyday holiday essentials. More importantly recent years have seen a number of high class successful restaurants and bars appear in the area and the towns sees regular visits from people wishing to sample some of the best cuisine in the south east. The resort is very popular with visitors who aren't looking for mass tourism in a resort,many of which who have subsequently fallen in love with the resort and bought second homes in the area. The design and architecture of the town is eclectic from old terraced town houses and flats to luxury apartments and villas.
